Varicom Industries was a brand created by then hobby giants Hobby Shack (now known as Hobby People).

I am fond of this RC truck mainly as it was one the first that I have completely built from a kit.

Here's an excerpt from the Classis Tamiya RC's Blackfoot page:
"From the Blackfoot came the Varicom Grizzly, MRC Monster Truck and Kyosho Big Brute. All of which were launched in an effort to capture some of the market share that Tamiya had staked out."

I have reference to a Graupner Big Grizzly, was this a badged unit for Varicom from Graupner?
